SHERBORNE RUNNING CLUB 

Details of our running club training sessions are posted to the SPFit facebook page every week at 6pm on Sunday evening. As lockdown begins to ease, our running sessions are every Tuesday, at 6pm ready to start running after a warm up and route briefing for about one hour. As it is summer, we will now run off road along the beautiful trails around Sherborne. All levels of experience and ability are welcome, we are just one friendly club. Ask our members.  Just check out all the comments and "banter" as our members actively support and encourage each other. Membership of our running club is £20 per quarter. If you are interested please contact us for more information. We are currently experiencing difficulties with supplies of our branded running tops but we hope they, and the ability to order direct from our supplier, will resume soon. 

 

HYBRID ONLINE AND IN SPFIT-  MONDAY EVENING UPPER BODY MUSCLE BUILDING AND TONING WITH RESISTANCE BANDS  - JUNE

These are our body transformation coaching sessions using resistance bands to build and tone muscle. We use specific progressions each month changing reps and sets. In June we will change the program to a pre-exhaust training protocol and increase the length of each set to increase the time under tension every week for 4 weeks. The cost is £18 for a block of 4 weeks - Monday 7, 14, 21 and 28 (not coached by Simon) June - from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Due to COVID restrictions, there are limited spaces to join this session in our "gym" as well as continuing online as we have throughout the pandemic.  If you are interested in joining this team please contact us for more information.

HYBRID ONLINE AND IN SPFIT WEDNESDAY EVENING FITNESS YOGA (BROGA)

This is our fitness yoga class designed to get you strong, mobile and flexible at the same time. The cost is £16 per month payable by standing order on the 1st of each month - we rotate 4 different fitness yoga workouts each week: chest/upper body, legs, back and our wholebody workout we call the "sizzle" - it is held every Wednesday from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be limited spaces to join this session in our "gym", as well as continuing online as we have throughout the pandemic.  We have participants from all over the UK now as well as Austria and Italy. This is a really fun but tough yoga workout. Please contact us for more information. Please note there will be no session on Wednesday the 30 June. However, you can use the recording from the "legs" session in May or any of the recordings in the other weeks of June so you don't miss out.

 

HYBRID ONLINE AND IN SPFIT OLD SCHOOL CIRCUIT TRAINING - MONDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY

Our bootcamps/circuits classes are designed to both strengthen the whole body and burn calories at the same time. Our aim this month is to increase strength, we will therefore reduce the amount of time spent on each station in each circuit but increase the weights we lift for each exercise. These sessions are suited to all abilities for both men and women. The cost is £18 for a block of 4 weeks for the Monday morning and Thursday evening training sessions. Our Friday morning sessions are now an outdoor bootcamp session run by the members so you can have a "right laugh" while Simon is coaching 1:1 sessions indoors whilst keeping a watchful eye on you all. You can, like most of our members do, choose to do more than one day. Our Monday morning session is on 7, 14, 21 and 28 (no Simon) June at 09.30am - 10.30am. Our Thursday evening session is on  3, 10, 17 and 24 (no Simon) June - from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Our Friday morning session is on 4, 11, 18 and 25 June - from 09:30  - 10:30am. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be limited spaces to join the session in our "gym" as well as continuing online as we have throughout the pandemic. We may also move back outside to the "bootcamp" format we used before the pandemic and this is under discussion with the team. If you want to, we will. Contact us for more information.

ONLINE SATURDAY MORNING STRENGTH & HIGH INTENSITY FAT BURNING BLITZ 

Our program for June, at our members request, is going to have less HIIT and more strength and conditioning . The first workout is a Tabata HIIT session and has been reduced to 15 minutes from 20 minutes. The second workout  is now a 30 minutes As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) strength and conditioning circuit, it was 25 minutes. This month we now use the increased number of reps you achieved in May and aim to add more load/difficulty to each exercise. These two workouts provide both a cardiovascular and muscular endurance workout. The cost is £15 for non-members for a block of 4 weeks - Saturday 5, 12, 19 and 26 June (no Simon) - from 9am - 10am. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be limited spaces to join the session in our "gym" as well as continuing online as we have throughout the pandemic. NEW BARBELL FUNDAMENTALS STRENGTH and CONDITIONING SESSION 

This session has been running for a month now and is designed to allow you to work on technique for four of our five big lifts (pull-ups, squats, overhead press and deadlifts) and then go outside for our little finisher of a metabolic circuit AMRAP of press-ups, sit-ups and, everyone's favourite, burpees.

Simon writes a structured programme for the group to follow and coaches the first two sessions which are £10 each per person. Then, all the sessions for the next 10 weeks, are uncoached, open training sessions so there is no cost. When you are ready for a new programme, we can design it and coach it to suit you.

The idea is to simply encourage everyone back into the gym and start weightlifting / strength training again within a small group environment. Hopefully, you can all encourage each other and create another brilliant supportive team environment.
